Il movimento DADA nasce nel 1916 nel pieno della prima guerra mondiale come grido di rivolta contro una società autrice di abominevoli stragi, rivoluzionando l'arte del ventesimo secolo. VIVA DADA vuole ricordare le dichiarazioni, le poesie e i manifesti di un gruppo di dadaisti, tra cui Tristan Tzara, Hugo Ball, Francis Picabia e Raoul Hausmann che a un secolo di distanza ancora risuonano incredibilmente sovversive. Attraverso un collage di documenti, arricchito da moderne tecniche di animazione, il film ci descrive lo spirito DADA, dalla nascita del movimento fino alla sua rinascita attraverso la recente ricostruzione del Dadaglobe, un'antologia concepita da Tristan Tzara ma mai realizzata.

DADA was born in 1916, at the height of WW1. This cry of revolt against societies that produced such abominable slaughters revolutionized modern art in the 20th century. VIVA DADA recalls the statements, the poems and manifestos of a group of Dadaists, among whom Tristan Tzara, Hugo Ball, Francis Picabia and Raoul Hausmann who, a century later, still sound incredibly subversive. This collage film, enhanced by modern animation techniques, tells about the spirit of DADA, from the birth of the movement, a century ago, to its revival in a current achievment, the Dadaglobe, Tristan Tzara’s planned but unrealized anthology.
