In stretto dialogo con la costruzione di Frank Gehry, l'opera di Daniel Buren L'observatoire de la lumière si sviluppa sull'intera superficie delle vetrate della Fondation Louis Vuitton a Parigi, , caratterizzando l'elemento più emblematico dell'edificio. Il film segue tutta l'evoluzione dei lavori: dalla posa dei filtri colorati fino al giorno dell'inaugurazione. Daniel Buren ci parla di quest'opera e dei problemi che ha dovuto affrontare, affiancato dalla direttrice artistica Suzanne Pagé e dall'ingegnere Nicholas Paschal.

In close dialogue with Frank Gehry’s construction, Daniel Buren’s work, Observatory of light, extends along the entire surface of the window panelling which is the building’s most emblematic feature. The film retraces the entire evolution of the work: from the moment the coloured filters are positioned to the inauguration. Daniel Buren, together with artistic director Suzanne Pagé and the engineer Nicholas Paschal, talks about this work and the problems that were encountered.
